About me
I am a member of the Laboratory of Air Quality Sciences (LAQS) at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH/ICE-HT) and a Postdoctoral Researcher jointly affiliated with the University of Thessaly, in collaboration with the ACTA Lab, Department of Energy Systems. I also collaborate with the University of Patras, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, within the IDEAS Group, where I contribute to lectures in the course Applications of Artificial Intelligence.
I hold a Ph.D. in Medical Physics and an engineering background in Electrical and Computer Technology. My doctoral research focused on developing advanced machine learning methodologies for medical imaging applications. To date, I have authored 46 peer-reviewed journal publications and 20 conference proceedings, and have actively participated in 19 funded research projects.
My expertise spans machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and explainable AI, with applications in predictive modeling, classification, segmentation, time-series forecasting, AI-driven decision support, and autonomous reasoning systems. My research is application-driven, addressing real-world challenges in healthcare, medical imaging, air quality sensors, and air quality models through intelligent, data-driven, and interpretable AI solutions.
