I am an AI researcher and engineer affiliated with the Laboratory of Air Quality Sciences (LAQS) at FORTH/ICE-HT in Greece, and with TU Dresden and the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden (UKDD) in Germany. My work connects artificial intelligence with scientific and practical challenges in healthcare, medical imaging, environmental monitoring, and air quality modeling.

I also collaborate with the University of Thessaly through the ACTA Lab, Department of Energy Systems, and with the University of Patras through the IDEAS Group, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, where I contribute lectures to the course Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

I hold a Ph.D. in Medical Physics and an engineering background in Electrical and Computer Technology. My doctoral research focused on developing advanced machine learning methodologies for medical imaging. My research record includes 55 peer-reviewed journal publications, 20 conference proceedings, and participation in 21 funded research projects.

My expertise includes machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and explainable AI, with applications in predictive modeling, classification, segmentation, time-series forecasting, sensor calibration, and AI-driven decision support. My current interests also include large language models and agentic systems, with an emphasis on integrating these capabilities into useful, interpretable, and rigorously evaluated applications.

Alongside my academic work, I develop practical AI applications and data platforms through AIRGO, connecting research with the needs of healthcare, research, public-sector, and business users. My work covers the full development process, from data preparation and model validation to visualization, user interfaces, and deployment. Across these activities, my focus is on translating advanced AI methodologies into reliable systems that help people understand complex data and make informed decisions.
